Active day care Hull now have 3 fantastic centers, 2 in Hull and 1 in Beverley, all of which have recently been renovated from top to bottom.
Our main focus is to promote independent living skills and education. Our new much larger premises allows us to provide a whole new spectrum of day care provision such as; woodworking, cookery in the Kitchen (which will incorporate. Healthy eating, nutrition and cooking skills), gardening at both our centres and out in the community at Gillshill Primary School. We will be promoting fitness and health in the Fitness Suite, We have a computer room (to include basic IT skills) and a large projector room providing the ability to watch educational videos. Active also has an amazing sensory room which is in use every day. We also have a new acting studio in Hull where our members can take part in performances such as Aladdin, Scrooge, Grease and many more.
The above is additional to Active Day Care Hull’s usual services, we will not be replacing any of our fun filled activities which you are all aware of Such as trips out to Lincoln Castle, Leeds Royal Armouries, York Air Museum, pub meals and our Christmas trip to York.
At Active Day Care Hull we support their transition and encourage all the services that support young people and their families – from health and social care through to education and possibly employment. A poor transition between child and adult services can have a profound and long-lasting negative impact on a person’s life, as well as their long-term independence.
Since opening on the 9th February 2015, Active Day Care Hull has gone from strength to strength. This is mainly due to the enthusiasm, motivation and dedication of everyone involved and especially the contribution and support from parents and carers and outside agencies. Our members are also very inclusive with new members and make them feel welcome and builds confidence.

If you have a loved one with additional needs then come along and have a look around and meet our young adults, or come for a ‘taster day’. Taster days are FREE and gives you the opportunity to join in our daily activities such as foot golf, bowling, golf driving range, weekly swim at Bridlington, 5 aside football, boccia (Sporstability 2016 champions), sporting events and much more. We can also advise you on what to do next to help with your loved one’s choice of day care. Active Day Care Hull also visits other towns, cities and attractions on a regular basis.
Active Day Care Hull has huge fleet of minibuses, including 2 WAV (Wheelchair accessible vehicle) buses.
